Broker Management Continuing Education Webinars Coming Soon
IAR will hold a series of two-day webinars designed to get managing brokers the continuing education credit they may need to retain their license by the April 30 deadline. The details will be released soon, but participants who need to earn their 12 hours of Broker Management CE credit will have the option to take the course via webinars hosted by the Illinois Association of REALTORS® or attend a live session at the Association's Springfield office. IAR has retained top trainers to teach the classes, which will be March 8-9, March 18-19, March 27-28, April 3-4 and April 26-27. REALTOR® Sarah Ware Named to Cook County Land Bank Authority Board
Chicago REALTOR® Sarah L. Ware, principal and managing broker of The Carter Ware Group, Inc., has been named to the Cook County Land Bank Authority’s Board of Directors. The 10-member board will oversee the newly created Land Bank Authority’s efforts to return vacant properties in Cook County to productive use.
Governor Signs Fast-Track Foreclosure Bill Into Law
Governor Quinn has signed into law a measure that is expected to shorten the foreclosure timeline on abandoned properties, raise fees paid by foreclosing lenders and provide counseling to homeowners. Read more in the latest State Capitol Report.

4Q12 Illinois Home Sales Show a Recovering Market
Statewide home sales jumped 29 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012 compared to a year earlier and the median price rose 4.7 percent for the same period, according to IAR data. Nationally, NAR reports that fourth quarter prices showed the strongest year-over-year increase in seven years.
