Steve Bochenek

Business and Legal Issues Update

Steve Bochenek is the chief legal counsel for the Illinois Association of REALTORS® since 1983 and a partner with the law firm of Sorling Northrup Attorneys in Springfield. He has authored numerous articles dealing with the real estate industry and has been a frequent lecturer on topics involving the real estate brokerage industry and trade associations. He has also been instrumental in the drafting of significant legislation impacting the real estate brokerage industry including the concepts of designated agency, statutory duties and the commercial broker's lien.

Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation Update

Jill Johnson is Real Estate Coordinator for the Bureau of Real Estate Professions for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Johnson serves as liaison between the Department, the professions and real estate organizations and associations and chairperson of the Real Estate Administration and Disciplinary Board and the Real Estate Education Advisory Council. Prior to joining the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, she was an Assistant General Counsel for Fidelity National Title Group and an Associate with the law firm Bollinger Ruberry & Garvey.
