John C. Kmiecik receives award for political leadership
from Illinois Association of REALTORS®

East Peoria, Ill. — Chicago REALTOR® John C. Kmiecik, CRB, SFR, president and founder of Century 21 Kmiecik, received the Illinois Association of REALTORS® Political Involvement Award Jan. 25.

The award was given for outstanding political and legislative service to the REALTOR® organization. The announcement was made at the association’s Public Policy Meetings held at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Riverfront Conference Center in East Peoria, Ill., Jan. 24-26.

Kmiecik has devoted more than 30 years of service to the real estate industry at the local, state and national levels. He was named 2010 Illinois REALTOR® of the Year and 1997 REALTOR® of the Year for the Chicago Association of REALTORS®.

Kmiecik was Illinois Association of REALTORS® president in 2004 and Chicago Association of REALTORS® president in 1997.

“John is a role model for all of us with his steadfast linking of political activism to the causes of homeownership and the real estate industry,” said Illinois Association of REALTORS® President Loretta Alonzo, CRB, GRI, and Broker-Owner of Century 21 Alonzo & Associates in La Grange Park.

Kmiecik has been inducted into the National Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee Hall of Fame, served as the 2011 Vice Chair of the NAR REALTORS® Political Involvement Committee, and twice served as chairman of the Illinois Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee Trustees.

The Illinois Association of REALTORS® is a voluntary trade organization representing more than 41,000 members engaged in all facets of the real estate industry. In addition to serving the professional needs of its members, the association works to protect the rights of private property owners in the state by recommending and promoting legislation that safeguards and advances the interest of real property ownership.
