IAR Broker Home Study Options

The Illinois Association of REALTORS offers a home study option for broker licensing classes. This self study program gives students the flexibility to study at home or the office at their own pace. An outline is designed to guide students through the complete program.

Home Study Courses
IAR offers 75 hours of home study broker pre-license courses, consisting of the following courses.

  • Advanced Principles 2000 (15 hours, mandatory)

  • Contracts and Conveyancing (15 hours, mandatory)

  • Broker Administration (15 hours, mandatory)

  • Sales & Brokerage (15 hours, elective)

  • Principles Review (15 hours, elective)

Packages are also available for special pricing

Study Help

  • A state-approved instructor is available by phone or e-mail to answer any questions that may arise on course materials.

Final Exams

  • The State of Illinois requires a proctored exam for each course. 

  • Students may take the proctored exams at the local board of REALTORS office of their choice. 

    • After completing the course, the student should contact IAR at 217/529-2600 to have the exam sent to their preferred board location.
