A Career in Real Estate

How do I get started in real estate?

The Illinois Association of REALTORS is the leading source for REALTOR training, continuing education, resources and advocacy in the state.

Once you get your real estate sales or brokerage license, you can become a member of the REALTOR organization--a three-way membership with a local association of REALTORS, the Illinois Association of REALTORS (IAR) and the National Association of REALTORS (NAR). When you become a member you can use the term REALTOR in promoting yourself and your business. REALTORS are distinguished from other licensed real estate salespersons by the strict code of ethics they follow.
