Fast Track Your GRI with New IAR Proficiency Exam

If you want to enhance your level of professionalism by earning the Graduate REALTOR® Institute Designation (GRI), IAR is offering a new fast-track option to help you earn credit for Course I so you can move directly to Course II this December.IAR's new proficiency exam allows you to earn full credit for Course I without attending a classroom course or meeting equivalency requirements. A second fast-track option is to take a course through the GRI Course I Equivalency Program.

NAR: U.S. Pending Sales Fall in September

The September Pending Home Sales Index fell 5.6 percent compared to August and 1.2 percent compared to a year ago, a result of higher home prices and mortgage rates impacting buyers and housing affordability, said NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun. While there may be a flat trend going into 2014, Yun said inventory shortages will continue to boost home prices, but it may be at a slower growth rate. Midwest pending sales, while 8.3 percent lower than August, still remained higher than September 2012. Read more from NAR.

2014 Broker Renewal: I Can't Find My Certificates for All of My Courses. Can I Send in my Renewal Without Them?

By April 30, 2014, Illinois Broker licensees must have completed the CE requirements and applied to renew their license through IDFPR. IAR's Licensing & Training Center has created a Q&A and checklist to help you get ready. This week's question:

  • Q: I can't find certificates for all of my courses. Can I send in my renewal without them? A: Yes. Do not mail your certificates to IDFPR with your renewal form. They are for your records only. Also you may need them in the event of an audit.
