Are You Ready for License Renewal? 

The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) will send license renewal notices to brokers the first week of February. Look for the yellow post cards in your mailbox, and make sure you have everything you need to keep your license active.

IAR Public Policy Highlights

Callan Named Illinois REALTOR® of the Year

Congratulations to Pat Callan, managing broker-owner of Realty Executives Premiere in Wheaton, on being named the 2014 REALTOR® of the Year. Callan, a past president of IAR, has a long history of service and dedication to the REALTOR® organization. Sieron Receives IAR Political Involvement Award

Congratulations to Stan Sieron, of Stan Sieron and Company in Belleville, this year's recipient of the IAR Political Involvement Award, which recognizes outstanding political and legislative service to the REALTOR® organization. Sieron also is a former president of IAR.

NAR: REALTORS® Optimistic as Senate Considers Flood Insurance Relief Bill

In a statement, NAR President Steve Brown applauded the U.S. Senate for moving to consider and debate the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act, which, if approved, would temporarily halt rate increases. Read more.

2013 Was A Year of Strong Housing Recovery for Illinois 

Illinois home sales totaled 153,492 in 2013, an 18.9 percent increase over 2012 and the highest level since before the housing downturn, according to the latest IAR housing report.  The statewide year-end median price was also higher at $150,000, an 8.3 percent increase over last year. Illinois REALTORS® met with Congresswoman Kelly in Glenwood on Monday for the latest in IAR's "Let's Talk Real Estate" events aimed at building the lines of communication between REALTORS® and their Congressional representatives. RPAC Auction a Totally Tubular Success!

Thanks to everyone who participated in the IAR RPACAuction held last week during the IAR Public Policy meetings. The '80s-themed auction raised over $85,000 for RPAC and brought out some like totally rad fashions.
